    Details

    Introduction

Sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate (SDBS) is a white to light yellow powder or flake and is one of the most commonly used anionic surfactants. It possesses excellent detergency, wetting, emulsifying, foaming, and dispersing properties. Chemically stable, it resists acids, alkalis, and hard water, and has a high degree of biodegradability. In aqueous solutions, its hydrophilic and hydrophobic groups significantly reduce the surface tension of water.

    Applications

    • Detergent Industry: The main active ingredient in synthetic washing powders and liquid detergents (dishwashing liquids), providing core detergency and foaming.
    • Textile Industry: Used as a cleaning agent and desizing assistant in pre-treatment to improve fabric hydrophilicity.
    • Building Materials: Used as an air-entraining agent in cement and concrete processing to improve flowability and frost resistance.

    Storage Requirements

Store in a dry, ventilated indoor environment. The product easily absorbs moisture and clumps, so packaging must remain tightly sealed. Keep away from open flames and strong oxidants.

    Handling and Precautions

Has a certain degreasing and mild irritating effect on the skin. Prolonged barehanded contact with high-concentration products causes dry, peeling skin; wearing rubber gloves is recommended. Powdered products easily generate dust during handling; masks should be worn to prevent inhalation.

    Formula & Function

    High-Efficiency Dishwashing Liquid: Pure Water (70%) + SDBS (15%) + Sodium Laureth Sulfate/AES (10%) + Thickener/Preservative (5%).

Function: SDBS provides powerful detergency and rich foam in the formula. Its lipophilic tail inserts into the grease on dishes, while its hydrophilic head faces the water. This emulsifies and breaks the grease down into tiny droplets, encapsulating them so they detach from the dish surface and are washed away suspended in water.

    Packaging

fiber drum or carton box, lined with PE bag. Customized packaging available upon request.

    FAQ

    • Q: How to get more information about the product?
A: You can contact us via email at info@zhpmchem.com or WhatsApp at +8618321309391 for more information about our products and company.
    • Q: Does the product meet our requirements regarding formulation, equipment, and processing?
A: Yes, we will adjust the product formulation to your specific needs, ensuring it meets your processing requirements.
    • Q: Is SDBS eco-friendly? Can it be naturally degraded?
A: Linear alkylbenzene sulfonates (LAS/SDBS) are relatively eco-friendly. They are easily biodegraded by microorganisms in natural environments and will not cause severe foam pollution in water bodies (unlike early branched-chain products).
    • Q: Why do detergents containing SDBS make hands feel dry after washing?
A: Because SDBS not only washes away dirt, but its strong degreasing power also strips the skin's natural sebum layer, leading to moisture loss. Therefore, moisturizing agents are often added to washing products.
    • Q: Will it lose its efficacy in hard water?
A: Compared to traditional soap (sodium fatty acids) which forms large amounts of soap scum in hard water, SDBS has good hard water resistance. Its calcium and magnesium salts have a certain degree of water solubility, are less likely to form precipitates, and its detergency is less affected.
